by Nestled under the mighty bulk of Nephin Mountain which rears up behind the County Mayo village of Laherdane, Nephin Whiskey Distillery is taking shape.
Unlike other distilleries Nephin Whiskey will not be releasing any sourced malt before their own is ready.
They do have a shop in the village however selling branded product where you can learn all about Nephin Whiskey.
And you can visit their sister company of Nephin Cooperage making the casks for the upcoming distillate in nearby Foxford town.
They will also be using locally grown barley to make that spirit.
Like all good things, Nephin Whiskey will not be rushed.
Casks Away looks forward to tasting that Nephin Whiskey when it’s good and ready!
