by Lough Ree Distillery are currently starting to build a whiskey distillery only a stones throw from the mighty River Shannon at the Northern end of Lough Ree in the County Longford town of Lanesborough.
A gin still is already in production in the town making the popular Sling Shot Gin for the company by their Master Distiller Claire.
Offering a ‘buy your own cask’ programme to have one of Lough Ree’s first Single Pot Still Whiskeys when they come off the stills, the new distillery have ambitious plans.
Casks Away looks forward to being able to take visitors to the completed distillery.
