by Killowen Distillery is a new breed of micro distillery exploring heritage mash bills using old varieties of green barley, malted barley and smoked oats to create a truly mouthwatering single pot still whiskey.
Nestled at the foot of the mighty Mourne Mountains, Killowen only accepts visitors by private appointment.
They are starting to producing gin and poitin using local botanicals to flavour the spirit.
There is the opportunity to invest in a cask of the new whiskey too.
Using direct fired copper pot stills, Casks Away looks forward to sampling the results of this exciting distillery.
Although it will be at least a three year wait for the whiskey!
